TEACHER HIRING ROUNDS
Spring 2013

Round 1
Introductions: February – April

Candidate Introductions and Resume Submission
Candidates should introduce themselves at hiring fairs or through email, and should submit a resume and cover letter.

Round 2
On-Site Tours and Content Tasks: May – June

Invited candidates will tour the school and its facilities on Governors Island and will complete and submit timed, subject-specific content tasks.

Round 3
On-Site Visits and Interviews: June

Selected candidates will be invited to interview with the Hiring Committee. Candidates should be prepared to submit a video of teaching a recent lesson and show a portfolio of work.

Round 4
Offers and Decisions: June – July

Selected candidates will receive a formal offer to join the faculty.

Notes

1. All candidates must possess a valid teaching certificate in their license area issued by New York State Education Department for grades 9-12.

2. Vacancies may include English, mathematics, special education, social studies, science, and foreign language. Resumes are accepted in all subject areas.
