New York Harbor School combines Traditional Academics with Career and Technical Education (CTE) to provide a unique college preparatory program built upon maritime experience.


Getting here
The ferry to Governors Island operates between the Battery Maritime Building (BMB) in Lower Manhattan and Soissons Dock on Governors Island. The trip is approximately 8 minutes in duration. The BMB Is accessible by the subway; the 1 train to South Ferry, R train to Whitehall/South Ferry, and the 4 or 5 trains to Bowling Green. Bus service to Lower Manhattan includes: M5, M20, M15, BM1, BM2, BM3, BM4. The school is located 550 Short Avenue on Governors Island, about a seven minute walk from Soissons Dock.
