On Friday, September 15, 2017, join us for the 7th annual New York Harbor Regatta & Bash hosted by the New York Harbor Foundation.
Spend the day sailing on the water of the iconic NY Harbor! Capture brand exposure and team engagement by becoming a presenting sponsor of the event or sponsoring one of the race boats for your company or sailing club team to compete.
Directly following the race, catch a ferry for an evening cocktail party at Island Oyster on Governors Island – a casual affair among sailors, spectators, and supporters to celebrate a successful regatta and to drink, eat, and dance while the sun sets behind
Proceeds help fund the New York Harbor Foundation’s flagship school, the New York Harbor School, and flagship initiative, Billion Oyster Project.

Every year, the Harbor School Awards Dinner raises a substantial portion of the funds necessary for providing the on-water and environmental enrichment programs that make Harbor School both unique and successful. The evening is particularly special because it brings together a community of educators, environmentalists, maritime professionals, and generous donors who are united on the effort to train the next generation of marine stewards.
Over 200 supporters gather at the New York Yacht Club each year to celebrate Harbor School. Attendees have included; President Bill Clinton, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, Jayni and Chevy Chase, Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., NBC’s Willie Geist and Savannah Guthrie, New York State Senator Daniel Squadron, and many distinguished members of NYC’s finance, environmental, legal, and entertainment community.
Get treated to the ultimate oyster experience as we celebrate the movement to restore NY Harbor and our local marine environment. Mingle with 50 oyster farmers who will be shucking and serving their delicacies and enjoy bites from 20 of NYC’s top restaurants while learning about oyster culture and restoration. Speak to NY Harbor School students about their work on the Billion Oyster Project. Finally, wash it all down with brews, sodas, spirits and wines from local partners while watching the BOP All-Star Shucking Championship!
Proceeds from the event will support the four program areas of the Billion Oyster Project: Oyster Production, Reef Construction & Monitoring, Shell Collection, BOP Schools, and Public Engagement. Each program stands alone as an important advance in ecosystem restoration and public education. Together they make up our Harbor and City wide project that will have a dramatic impact on ecosystem health as well as public awareness, understanding and appreciation of NY Harbor.
Please join us this spring for our 2nd annual New York Harbor Oyster Classic 5K on beautiful Governor’s Island. Runners at last years event enjoyed a wonderful new race route with unmatched New York City views from this unique venue.
